Modern Slavery Statement
Removal Van Greenwich Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps that Removal Van Greenwich is taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implement systems and controls that seek to ensure modern slavery does not occur within our own business or those of our suppliers.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Removal Van Greenwich has a clear and formal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, child labour, and exploitation. This policy applies to everyone who works for us or on our behalf, including employees, agency staff, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
We expect all individuals and organisations we work with to share our commitment to human rights and fair working practices. Any breach, or suspected breach, of our zero-tolerance policy will be treated as a serious matter that may result in termination of contracts, removal from approved supplier lists, and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removal Van Greenwich operates in the removals and logistics sector, providing domestic and commercial moving services. Our supply chains include vehicle leasing and maintenance, fuel providers, packaging materials, storage facilities, cleaning and maintenance services, and labour agencies. We recognise that some of these areas, particularly agency labour and overseas sourcing of materials, may present a heightened risk of modern slavery.
We are committed to understanding these risks and taking proportionate steps to reduce and manage them. We seek to work only with reputable organisations that can demonstrate adherence to ethical standards and legal requirements relating to employment, working conditions, and human rights.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We conduct due diligence on new suppliers and review existing suppliers on a risk basis. Our approach includes assessing their policies on modern slavery, their recruitment and labour practices, and their own supply chain oversight. Where we identify higher risk, we may require additional information, assurances, or evidence of compliance.
Removal Van Greenwich reserves the right to conduct audits of suppliers, either directly or through an independent party. These audits may consider working conditions, wage practices, recruitment methods, identity documentation, and grievance mechanisms. Where non-compliance or concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to agree corrective actions and timelines. Where satisfactory improvement is not demonstrated, we will consider suspending or ending the commercial relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
We encourage all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business or supply chains. Reports can be made to any line manager, senior manager, or directly to the company leadership. Concerns may include suspicious recruitment practices, withholding of identity documents, restriction of movement, underpayment of wages, or any form of coercion or exploitation.
All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and sensitively. We will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated. Where appropriate, we will cooperate fully with regulatory and law enforcement bodies.
Training, Awareness and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery programme rests with the senior management of Removal Van Greenwich. Managers are responsible for ensuring that team members understand this statement and the standards expected of them. We provide relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and contract management, with guidance to recognise indicators of modern slavery and to know how to report concerns.
We continue to build awareness within our workforce about the risks of modern slavery and the importance of ethical conduct. This includes integrating our zero-tolerance approach into policies, induction processes, and ongoing internal communications.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
Removal Van Greenwich is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to tackling modern slavery. We monitor the effectiveness of our policies and procedures through regular management reviews, feedback from staff and suppliers, and the findings of any audits or investigations.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually, or more frequently if needed, to reflect changes in legislation, guidance, business activities, or identified risks. Updated versions will set out any progress made, lessons learned, and further steps planned to strengthen our efforts to prevent modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the management of Removal Van Greenwich and represents our ongoing commitment to ethical business practices and respect for human rights.
